Catherine Cristofaro (formerly “Dufour”) has been dancing locally for 20 years. She is experienced in performing, choreographing and teaching various styles of ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical and modern dance.She is a member of the Cecchetti Council of America (C.C.A.) and Conseil Internationale de Danse (C.I.D).
She is also a former competitive gymnast and a three time OFSAA medal contender. Combining her gymnastics background with her expertise in dance has granted her choreography opportunities with provincial and national level gymnasts
Catherine performed in The Nutcracker with the Pennsylvania Ballet and danced for the Beach Boys Tour when their tour reached their Windsor destination. She also won "Dance Teacher Performer of the Year” for 5678 Showtime Conventions in 2003.With ballet being the main focus of her training and studies, Catherine moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of eighteen to train at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet of Canada. During her training in the Professional Development Division and the Teachers in Training Program, she was invited to assist the RWB’s Recreational Program. She assisted some or their most esteemed teachers and built a solid foundation as a dance educator while she was there. She has attended many conventions and workshops throughout North America and coached local competitive dance teams for the past 11 years, leading them to 11 National Championships. Catherine was also the assistant artistic director for a local Performing Arts Company for four years. She continues to teach workshops, choreograph and tour as a guest artist teaching classes locally and throughout the province. She has recently added scholastic workshops at the elementary school level to her repertoire, providing assistance to French language schools with incorporating dance as an integrative part of their arts education. 
As a busy mother of two daughters, she is entering her sixth year as the studio owner, teacher and choreographer of The Catz Meow Dance Education Centre in Amherstburg, Ontario. Catherine is a proud member of the Cecchetti Council of America with 5 teachers examination certificates.
Catherine is excited about expanding her career as a dance educator and is ambitious as always to find out where else dance can take her.
